"Hironori Katagiri - Drawings" exhibition

February 27, 2016

Katagiri who was born and grew up In the seaside city of Kesennuma Is showing a very personal emotional response to the disaster In drawings which try to re-fill the space of lost memories and feelings.

Junko Oikawa Director of the Museum says
"Last Year, I encountered Katagiri’s powerful large graphite drawing on a huge 9m sheet of hand made paper hanging like a screen which filled the room, accompanied by a sound installation of sea waves. Almost five years now since 3.11 great Eastern Japan disaster. We can not forget, we should not forget and do not want to forget. Looking at Katagiri’s works I would like to remember."
